Item description from seller

Octavo, pp [xiv], 336. This is volume one only, A through J, of a two volume work, written by Osores. Osores de Sotomayor was a cleric and historian of the Church in Mexico. This is his major work, written sometime before 1851 -- the year of his death -- but not published until 1906. Volumes XIX and XXI of the Documentos Ineditos series are the relevant volumes. Uncommon. Three-quarter leather binding over marbled boards. Ex-library (Univ. of San Francisco, with Fr. Gleason's amiable and ubiquitous bookplate on front paste-down), with call letters on spine, accession number on obverse of title-page, otherwise clean copy. Very good condition.
