Three small quarterbound hard covers in very good condition for their age. Original owner's bookplate is adhered to all three volumes, with additional ownership penned and dated to title page (1879). One subsequent owner's name penned to FEP (dated 1950); further details pencilled to FEP of Vol. two. Quarterbound in cream leather, leather spine has narrow gilt detail to head and foot, with two bands detailing the title and volume number, with additional gilt tooling to top and base of these sections. Spine head and foot of all volumes are in remarkably good condition. General shelf and handling wear including wear to board corners, with leather worn at corner points, board showing through. Spine leather in lovely condition for the age; some age-related discolouration and blemishes present, but title details and volume numbers clear. Complimentary marble boards are lightly worn at head and base edges, more notable at the leading edges, especially to volumes one and two. Pageblock is tanned, tanning and foxing to pastedowns and endpapers, tanning leading into page edges. Within, pages are tightly bound, and content is unmarked. Original ribbon bookmark is present in all three volumes. A handsome set. Additional photographs and/or details available upon request. CN.
