Add to basketAlfred A Knopf Inc., 1985. Hardback Third Printing. Hardcover Book and Dust Jacket in Very Good Condition. An examination of Mexico, a land at once familiar and exotically foreign, vitally connected and interdependent with the United States, yet distanced by an abrasive history of U. S.-Mexican relations and the strong contrast between the two often antithetical cultures. The author examines Mexico's long history, its politics, social and economic conditions, and with portraits of Mexico's political, business and cultural leaders. An astute introduction to a country whose prosperity and stability are vital to America's national interests--and perhaps will help with America's better understanding of its neighbor. Handsome, clean binding of black quarter cloth with bright and bold gilt titles, ivory boards. Solid, square, sharp corners. Top edge of text block is dust dulled, otherwise in Fine Condition. Tan, unclipped jacket with green lettering is clean with slight wear around spine ends. 385 pages with Bibliography and Index. 8vo. 1985, Alfred A Knopf, New York, New York, USA.
