This copy is Number [--]" [the blank has not been filled in]. 8 in. x 10 1/2 in., cvi, 182 pp. + colophon leaf; illustrated with frontispiece portrait; large, fold-out maps, reproduction of 1596 titlepage, William Monk ship design printed in black & yellow on titlepage, etc. White cloth spine with titling & bands gilt on spine and brown cloth-covered boards, with heraldic design blindstamped on the front cover, lilac silk bookmarker bound in. Spine shows light tanning, cocking, a few small bubbles to cloth on back cover; former owner's book label on front paste-down; earlier owner's name in ink on facing endpaper: H. A. Sherrett (?) [-] Sussex 1940., slight tanning to endpapers. Near fine; interior is clean & crisp. Scholarly edition with unpublished materials, excellent index. The fifth publication of the Argonaut Press.
