A rare Readers Library title with dramatic artwork to the dustwrapper. The first Readers Library printing of this novel which first appeared in 1913 and which caused quite a stir when it was published, owing to its theme of sexual abuse. Near fine book in dustwrapper that has a little loss and chipping, with a foursmall closed tears, the largest of which is 2 cm long at the head of the spine. Still, presents very well in a newly supplied mylar cover.
