No date; circa 1945. Lt. blue wraps, fine. Pages fine. Saddle-stitch bind. "Among the series of epigrams called The Devil's Dictionary are some of the most gorgeous witticisms in the English language."- H. L. Mencken. Really not so evil in its selection of definitions, but more an erudite explanation in the mode of 'devil's advocate' of some common terms and their rather uncommonly expressed connotations. Many illustrative quotations, excerpts and some rather obscure truisms and colloquialisms from 'literature' of a paradoxical nature. 64 pages. Size: 32mo - over 4" - 5" tall.
