Oblong folio (c. 20 × 12 in. ) , in original flexible textured black cloth-covered paper boards, embossed gilt title to upper cover. Soundly bound and complete. Covers with stress creases at two corners and a vertical crease to front board; moderate soiling and light evidence of damp exposure, with some mottled offsetting visible on the first and last endpages.Comprising 49 pages of illustrated text and 69 plates of engineering plans (many folding, most reproduced at half-scale of the originals). Contents generally clean and neat, with plates sharp and well-printed. A monumental record of the design and construction of the Ambassador Bridge (opened 1929 30) , at the time the longest suspension bridge in the world and a major symbol of North American engineering. Issued in a limited edition of 1000 copies, this impressive folio documents in detail the methods, calculations, and construction process of a transnational landmark linking Detroit, Michigan with Windsor, Ontario.
