Volume five of this wonderful series that was published between 1812 and 1865 and ran to eleven volumes. "The present volume contains a description of such of the Sepulchral Monuments belonging to the British Museum as are contained in the fifth room of the Gallery of Antiquities". Original publisher's boards with printed label to front and spine, 44 printed pages, vignette title page, 2 Gallery of Antiquities plates followed by 13 numbered plates all checked and complete as issued (the 13th plate being hand-coloured). Large book, measuring approximately under 12 x 14.5 inches. Condition: Bumped and scuffed to the corners and spine, loss to the paper covering towards the top of the spine, dust soiling and browning to the boards and spine, foxed end papers and scattered foxing to the pages.
