Circa 1830, Quarto, [size:220 x 270; 8.5 x 10.5 inches, approx], pagination x, 158, frontispiece view, 2 text vignette, 15 in contemporary polished calf, spine gilt with raised bands and red label. CONDITION: two inch split at the top of upper board, rubbed with repair damage at head of spine. Internally with only slight minor marginal foxing to title and plates, a very good copy throughout. FIRST EDITION, TYPE PRINTED THROUGHOUT IN GOLD, by Metcalf, printers of Cambridge, with their colophon on last leaf. To the best of my knowledge the technique of printing in gold is unrecorded . This is an extremely rare printing to find.
