A good, ex-library copy of the presumed first hard cover edition (no explicit edition or printing statement), lacking a dust-jacket. Save for the customary library treatments to the endpapers and the base of the jacket spine the text is unmarked, pristine. Evident wear and fraying to the blue cloth binding, with the lettering on the spine rather faded. Gutter paper split the length of the copyright page, exposing the webbing, which remains intact.
