About the Author

Sis Deans is the author of Racing the Past, which was chosen as a Booklist Editor's Choice, a School Library Journal Best Book, and a CBC-NCSS Notable Social Studies Trade Book for Young People. The winner of several regional awards, including the Maine Chapbook Award, Ms. Deans lives in Gorham, Maine, with her husband and three daughters.
