G, 1887, 1st ed. In red cloth with beveled edges, a little scruffy, edges & corners a little bumped & grubby. Spine has title in red, is dirty, edges bumped & worn, has a 1 inch crack along cloth joint. Internally, covers a little weak, floral endpapers, ink name to ffep, half title & tissue guarded frontis, [2], 379 pp, hinges cracked. (189*128 mm). Haggard, who at the age of twenty-one, became master and registrar of the high court of the Transvaal, the youngest head of a government department in South Africa. See ODNB for a full Bio.
