Compiled from Cummins memoirs by Lorne C. MacPherson. Contains a book review and a letter from the editor. Cummins (1835?-1904) was a Cork-born railway engineer in India. These memoirs were drawn from his letters to his daughter in 1902 and include his account of his escape from Delhi during the Indian Revolution of 1845. The tone and vocabulary used are of the class and period. He retired to Magg, Quebec in 1891 Cummins Contains a genealogy of the Cummins family whose family seat was Woodville, Glanmire, near Cork City. Also an account of his collection of antiques, his family and their portraits. A bright, unmarked copy of a unique life.
