First UK Edition. Publisher's black cloth with gold lettering to the spine. A former owner's neat initials and date on the front free end-paper. The boards have several indiscriminate marks and are slightly rubbed to the corners. Overall a VG copy. The D/W is not price-clipped and is priced 3/6 net to the inside flap. The English Catalogue of Books calls for a D/W priced at 7/6 and the Cheap Edition was published at 3/6 in January 1938. This D/W would, therefore, appear to be from the Cheap Edition although it is identical to the First Edition D/W in every way apart from price. The D/W has several smallish chips (none of which affect lettering) to the bottom left and right hand corners of the spine and a flat chip to the top/middle of the front cover.
