Item description from seller

First printing of this large book of paper dolls and their activities that take layout cues from Charles Dana Gibson - remarkably fully intact. Published during the early 20th century boom in paper doll production, THE DOLLS THAT YOU LOVE is a book that demands attention. This large-format work contains so much more than paper dolls and clothing to cut out: there are poems about each doll and their personality, stories about their activities, and even Gibson Girl-esque bust portraits of five children and their nurse. This is a rare survivor, completely intact. 12.25'' x 18''. Original cloth-backed color pictorial boards. Illustrated in color. [40] pages with six paper dolls on thicker paper. Binding with light edgewear and rubbing, a bit of foxing. Leaves with occasional faint foxing, one leaf with small tear to corner not affecting the art; front hinge with careful glue repair. Tight and complete.
