Early half black leather and black boards, boards centrally rubbed, rubbing to joints and spine end, more so to top, but clean with good gilt on red spine label and gilt lined panel dividers. Marbled end-papers, xx + 329 (with errata to verso), original end-papers clearly replaced when rebound; text-block edges quite darkened, esp. top, but marbled, internally excellent being clean, tight and unmarked - but spotted one tiny marginal correction to a Greek word, and no provenance marks. Scarce 1st edition of this popular and subsequently much revised medical dictionary. 10.5 cm x 18 cm. Seller Inventory # 012919
