Scarce in this original first edition published in the U.S. By the Emmy Award-winning TV script-writer, screenwriter and author of the dystopian novel ONE. A governor of a peaceful isolated land, sees modern progress moving in, and soon outsiders pressure a native uprising, world conflicts impede, and a disaster looms. He tries to handle all with reason, and also finds love. Light rubbing to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips, else near fine, square, and firm in green linen with white and black embossed titles to the spine; in a very good plus dust jacket designed by Soshens, with light age-toning to the spine panel a small chip to the upper spine edge, and a few very short shelf-edge tears, and a tiny creased chip to the upper front corner; original printed $4.50 price still intact to the front inner flap's lower corner.
