Interior is tight, clean & unmarked. Mass market paperback proclaims 'First Time in Print', and has no reading creases in cover or spine, but has storage crease at foot of front cover. The cyborg code-named "Slant" had been sent to kill the enemies of Earth in the war between Earth and its colonies. His robot spacecraft was to see he did or kill him! Earth had been distroyed three hundred years ago, but Slant's spacecraft does not admit this -- he is compelled to carry on as if the war were still raging. Then they come across a planet where ship sensors register ''gravitational anomalies.'' The computer interprets these as enemy weapons research, but the local inhabitants call the anomalies ''magic.'' Copyright 1982. Stated 1st edition, June, 1982. ISBN-10 as above, no LCCN. Ballantine Catalog: 30441. MSR = $2.75.
