Item description from seller

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1994. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Very Fine in a very fine dust jacket. Publisher's original price intact on jacket flap ($23.00). Comes with archival-quality mylar dust jacket protector. A tight, clean copy with no faults. Octavo, 426 pages. "The Crossing" follows Billy Parham, a teenage cowboy in New Mexico, on a series of border crossings into Mexico with a captured wolf, and later in pursuit of his stolen horses, in a story of violence, loss, and stoic endurance. McCarthy (1933 2023) was an American novelist who won the Pulitzer Prize for "The Road" and whose works "No Country for Old Men" and "All the Pretty Horses" were adapted into major films. "The Crossing" is the second volume of McCarthy's celebrated Border Trilogy, between "All the Pretty Horses" (1992) and "Cities of the Plain" (1998).
