Founded in 1897,Country Lifeis a weekly lifestyle magazine which covers rural living and its pleasures, such as farming, hunting, food and wine, art and antiques.With all twenty-four issues from between January and June of 1947. Collated, complete.Including a photograph of Her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth to the start of the April 18 issue, and Her Majesty Queen Mary to the May 23 issue.With three leaves from the later July 4 issue loosely inserted.Each issue is complete with numerous pages of publisher's advertisements and the cover page in colour.Acquired from the library of Audrey Pleydell-Bouverie, an English socialite and the illegitimate granddaughter of King Edward VII. She was featured by Cecil Beaton in 'The Book of Beauty'. Amongst her circle were Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, Coco Chanel, Salvador Dali, Winston and Clementine Churchill and Nancy Mitford. In a full cloth binding. Externally generally smart; with a little bumping to the extremities. Spine is slightly faded as to be expected.
