Hardcover. Condition: Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: Good+. First US Edition. Heavy dampstains to book and jacket, lean, and jacket with faded spine and small tears and creases. Laid in is a handwritten note in holograph ink, from a John Dennett to "David," referring to chapters 9-13 of the book and author Bohannan. Dennett also describes the war (presumably in Vietnam) and how it differs from the war in the Philippines, and guerrillas who "sometimes attack [and] sometimes stand [and] fidget" and who "are much better armed. This may, however, be only an indication of how late in the day it is here." The letter is dated May 21, with no stated year, but presumably mid 1960s. A scarce book almost always in undesirable condition with frontline ephemera accompanying. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Seller Inventory # 82276
