FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 8.5 x 5.75 inches. 212 pp. Bound in unclipped original green cloth, gilt, in dust wrapper, which has edge wear and chips and loss at head and tail of spine and some staining on rear wrapper. A little wear to extremities and some sunning at head and tail of spine; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by diagram, The Informative Content of Education. A late H. G. Wells title, 'a kind of autobiography of ideas combined with comment on the flooding events of recent years,' developed from the author's Experiment in Autobiography. 'It gives the matured views of a philosopher summing up his position after a lifetime of work and study.' Part I covers The Heritage of the Past. The Psychology of Cruelty, and includes 'Socialism dawned in Kent' (John Ball). Part II is How we face the Future. The Appendix is the Thesis for the Doctorate of Science recently accepted by the University of London and A Memorandum on the uniqueness of events written specially for Sir James Jeans. Wells states the book 'is published at a price that will keep it out of the hands of any but qualified and serious students.' (Catalogue of the H. G.
