FIRST BRITISH EDITION, 8vo, pp. 191, [1]. Original red boards, spine lettered in gilt, yellow dustjacket printed in purple and black. Dustjacket spine panel a little darkened. Publisher?s review slip loosely inserted. The first British, and first hardcover edition of this collection of three short pieces from Miller: The Darfsteller, Dark Benediction and the title story Conditionally Human. The Darfsteller won the inaugural Hugo award for best novellette on magazine publication in 1955.
