Scarce, small-press feminist title from the early 1970's explores the psychological and emotional dimensions of women's lives during wartime - not as combatants, but as "concomitant soldiers," living parallel battles of waiting, loss, and endurance. Jason's prose examines how war reshapes identity and intimacy, portraying women as both participants and survivors in a male-defined conflict. The tone & style is reflective, feminist, and sociological and written in literary realism with dialogue-driven scenes and introspective narration. Set in the mid-20th-century America, with references to Harrisburg and Camp Campbell, situating the story amid domestic and military spheres. This book was printed on high-quality paper and has bright clean pages. The binding has cracked between pages 188 and 189, and there is some damage to the page edges on the bottom.
