FIRST EDITION, 12mo; xxiii (Preface), [1] (Abbreviations Explained), 408 pp.; rebound in full calf similar to the original binding, red spine label with gilt lettering, previous owner’s signature on front flyleaf, text pp. bright with a few small stains and light foxing, original end pages intact, a previous owners' names written on front end page, nice copy of Webster’s first dictionary and the first purely American Dictionary. This was published 22 years before his major two-volume American Dictionary published in 1828. Sabin 102347.
