First edition hardcover in olive paper covered boards with black titles Spine ends bumped, tips still sharp. This is not an exlib. 159 pp text tight and bright without names or tears but an occasional soil spot or fingerprint. Un-clipped original color illustrated dust jacket shows a cowboy on a golden palomino looking down at a man he just shot. Some paper adhered to frt dj panel. Book displays well on the shelf with moderately soiled yellow background, turquoise type (title, author, publisher) and a red outline drawing of a western hat and a pistol. Moderately surface soiled light yellow background rear dj panel has a trio of closed tears at head of panel plus 13 suggestions for further Western adventure reading. "When Texas Ranger Brent Hollister arrived back at headquarters tied to his horse and with his throat cut, Captain Jennings sent his next best man to investigate the rustling forays along the Rio Grande and bring in Hollister's killer. Ranger Ellis Tyler was tough and capable, and wise in the ways of rustlers and bushwhackers. It wasn't long before he hit trouble and had to blast his way clear with a flaming sixshooter. The man who carried a Colt for Texas was fair game for the riff-raff of the border country, and all his courage and initiative, plus his skill with his Peacemaker, were needed when he came to grips with the rustlers and gunmen who were rampant on Texas soil.
