Undated, the watermark on the paper is 1828. This edition has superior paper and superior hand colouring. Twenty five plates are listed but there are 30 plates present. Text in English and French. Two signatures on front end paper. The paper is uniformly browned. There are faint foxing patches on all of the blank pages between the plates and the text, but not on the plates themselves or on the text. The binding is solid. Contemporary full morocco with Regency style gilt borders front and back. Spine has 4 raised bands between gilt decorated compartments. Silk headbands top and bottom. Corners are bumped and rubbed. Plates include 'The cow-keeper of Ementhal', 'The haymaker of Oberhasli', 'The chamois hunter of Oberhasli', 'The vinedresser of Vaud'. Seller Inventory # 2290
