Leatherbound with gilt decoration. The covers have some scuffing with a small gouge on back. Part of title on spine is scraped. This binding is either not contemporary or has been repaired and rebound. Interior prelims are missing up to Title Page which is present and all other pages appear to be present. There is some writing, including the name Southernwood on the front pastedown. (This name is also written on the title page. ) Much newer bookplate is also on this front pastedown. Both front and rear pastedowns have some damage where paper is slightly lifted from boards and front hinge appears to have been reglued. Interior has some toning. Book is square and binding seems to be holding well. For all its problems this is still an attractive book and a complete volume except for noted prelims. ; Vol. 1; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 373 pages; Willymott was a noted British clergyman. Either volume of this book is uncommon in what I think is a first edition. Seller Inventory # 8484
