About this Item

A very good copy in the original cloth binding with colour printed frontispiece and 46 black and white illustrations by A M Traill. The work was published by the author in a limited issue of 200 copies. The binding is bright and clean with gilt titles to the front board and spine. The boards have bevelled edges. There is a small mark to the bottom of the front board and general rubbing to spine ends, joints, edges and corners. Top page edges are gilted; remainder uncut. Contents: initial blank; half title; copyright page; colour frontispiece; rubricated title; preface 2pp; subscribers' list 3pp; plate list; and text with plates pp 1-182; 3 final blanks. The majority of the text is unopened. Contents very clean with occasional light spotting. There is browning to the rear free endpaper and some marking and spotting to the rear pastedown.
