Edited and with an introduction by Northrop Frye. Copy is in very good condition. Minimal wear to the decorated grey cloth boards. Interior is clean and unmarked with a solid, square binding. Dust jacket is very good as well. A touch of wear and creasing to the edges and a small, closed hole to the rear of the jacket and a mark to the spine. Now wrapped in protective Brodart cover. The gilt is still beautifully bright. No bumps. Corners sharp. Covers clean and unmarked. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions. Interior pages clean. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. ***In a very good colour-printed dustwrapper, which has not been price-clipped, and retains the original publisher's printed price of 15s. net. The dustwrapper states '11th printing' at the top of the front flap. Extremities of dustwrapper slightly rubbed and creased. Small nicks to the top of the spine of the dustwrapper. There is a closed tear and associated creasing to the top edge of the back panel near the spine. The spine of the dustwrapper is only very slightly faded. No chips.
