Skinner's generous selection of poems in this new collection spans thirty years of work and responds to his life in Ireland where he has had a home for thirty-two years. Focused primarily on County Clare, the poems record the author's encounters with the landscape, animals, and the people of Ireland, in historical, mythical, and contemporary settings. Some of his newest poems are included, as well as favorites selected from nine previously published collections, including A Close Sky over Killaspuglonane and Learning to Spell Zucchini.
