ARKIN, WILLIAM M. Code names: deciphering US military plans, programs, and operations in the 9/11 world. Hanover, N.H.: Steerforth Press, 2005, stated First Edition, 608pp., . "In the 9/11 world, U.S. military and intelligence organizations have created secret plans, programs, and operations at a frenzied pace, each with their own code name. In a perfect world, all of this secrecy would be to protect legitimate secrets from prying foreign eyes, but instead its intention appears to be to ensure that politically important information that ought to be in the public domain remains concealed--unreported by the press and shielded from the scrutiny of the American electorate. [This book] identifies more than 3,000 code names and details the plans and missions for which they stand" - CONTENTS: Cast of characters -- Activities by country -- Code names -- Acronyms and glossary. 9781586420833 ISBN 1586420836. …
