Synopsis:

For courses in Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, and Policing.

The first of its kind, this book has taken on the monumental task of explaining what the criminal statutes mean. Appropriate for a broad audience, it is a must for anyone attempting to understand and apply the United States criminal statutes. It contains hundreds of criminal statutes–in complete verbatim text–ranging from the well-known, basic offenses to the uncommon criminal laws that are rarely invoked. Chapters are accompanied by illustrative stories and practical application sections that draw readers in and help them apply statutes to realistic situations.  With national appeal, this practical guide makes the penal code a more interesting and educational tool.

About the Author:

Kenneth Del Vecchio is a criminal lawyer who has tried over 400 cases, serving as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. He is also a critically acclaimed filmmaker whose movies have won awards and received national and international distribution. In addition, Del Vecchio is a published novelist.

As a lawyer, Del Vecchio is credited with being one of the youngest attorneys in New Jersey history to try and win a felony jury trial. Since then, Del Vecchio has handled literally thousands of criminal cases as both a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney.

Often headlined as a Renaissance Man, Kenneth Del Vecchio has been the subject of hundreds of national magazine and newspaper articles. He has been called The Triple Threat: Attorney, Author, Filmmaker by print and television media.

His films, primarily focusing on criminal law, include The Drum Beats Twice, Tinsel Town, Pride & Loyalty and Rules for Men.

In addition to his filmmaking career, Kenneth Del Vecchio is a published novelist, having authored the criminal suspense novels Revelation in the Wilderness and Pride & Loyalty. He resides in the Borough of North Haledon with his wife Francine.
