First edition (we have found no record of subsequent editions for this publisher). 8vo. 176, (2) pp. Illustrated from photographs, plates, map; many advertisements, some on colored paper, stamp for the First National Bank of Harriman on each edge. The first directory of this Cumberland Valley town, founded by New Hampshire temperance activists as the East Tennessee Land Company, in the late 19th century; includes the town's history, a directory of residents and merchants, advertisements, city services, and a map of connecting railways. OCLC locates six copies (Southwest Kansas, Appalachian State, Balch Institute, Knox Co. Public, Memphis, Tennessee State Library). Hinges starting, but a very good copy. Original blue cloth.
