"Christian Science". Published by Harper & Brothers in 1907. Measures 8" x 5-¼". First edition, first issue with 1907 on the title page and with "Published February, 1907" on the copyright page; With a boxed advertisement for the "Uniform Edition of Mark Twain's Works" with 17 titles listed and with 6 titles listed under the heading "Other Books by Mark Twain"; With the list of illustrations set in 8 lines including the heading and all turned lines; With the first state of the frontispiece captioned with the year 1906 (BAL 3497). Very good minus condition in the publisher's original gilt-stamped red cloth boards. Boards show moderate wear and handling, with a medium sized stain on the lower front part of the spine. Gilt design on front board very well preserved, gilt titling on spine very legible but slightly faded. Bookplate from the public library of Cincinnati, from being donated to their Mark Twain collection in memory of Michael Flaig by his parents. Not an ex-library copy. Previous owner's name in pencil on the front end paper. Otherwise interior is very good and likely unread. Seller Inventory # 004131
