First edition. Octavo, pp 82. Bound in orange paper covered hard boards, with an art deco style title illustration pasted to the upper board. Small illustrations at the head and foot of each chapter. Woolf was the wife of Sir William Thomas Southorn, colonial officer who held the post of Colonial Secretary of Hong Kong from 1925 to 1936 (Southorn Playground in Wanchai is named after him). Her brother was Leonard Woolf who was married to Virginia Woolf. Chips of China is Woolf's experiences living in Hong Kong in the late 1920's, written as a series of vignette chapters; several were previously published in Hong Kong newspapers. Near Fine condition internally, some fading and wear to spine and boards, overall grades Very Good. Seller Inventory # B7706
