Apparent First Edition (SD: 1890 on the Title Page, also 'Copyright, 1890' in very small print on the title page). I was surprised not to be able to find even one other copy of this title for sale anywhere on the Internet. I've rated the book Good Minus. You can see the covers in the photographs. There's a little bit of scuffing, there is rub-through at the corners and all six edges, there are small tears at the spine ends. This book is decently bound, no significant issues in that regard. There are penciled names and ownership remarks on the blank first front end paper. There's a rough three inch tear on the second blank front end paper. There is loss near the gutter and a very young child's pencil scribbling on the third blank end paper. There's more of this pencil scribbling/drawing on the back of this end paper and on the fourth blank front end paper. And that's it for pencil scribbling. It does not recur anywhere else in the book. There are a great many black-and-white illustrations throughout the book, many of them are full-page. Actually, scrolling through, I'm noticing that there are illustrations on every page. Up until the last four (or eight) the pages of the book are in pretty decent shape. I didn't see any foxing/spotting anywhere in the book. There is occasional soiling, including several spots on the title page. The title page also has a small tear at the gutter, and there is one instance of a very slight spacing between two opposing pages. This last group of pages has a few sharp edge tears and is attached only at the bottom fifth. You can also see a little bit of webbing at the very bottom between the last page of text and the first blank rear end paper. There aren't any markings or attachments anywhere in the book.
