Synopsis

The 1990s will be a time of considerable change in the organization and delivery of child health care services. On-going reforms of the National Health Service and the welfare state coupled with significant ethnic and social changes in British society mean that health care professionals are being forced to rapidly adjust their working practices. Such change cannot be achieved without information about the needs, characteristics and perceptions of service users or without up-to-date information about new developments and problems in community health care.
