A very good copy of the presumed first hard cover edition (no explicit edition or printing statement) in a decidely poor dust-jacket, signed by Henry Justin Smith and Lloyd Lewis in ink on the half-title page. Previous owner's name in ink atop front endpaper, else the text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the maroon cloth binding with silver lettering is astonishingly bright and fresh in appearance. All of the jacket that remains is the front panel, which is detached from the (present) front flap, and a large prtion of the spine: these are laid in. All in all a brilliant copy.
