Please read ALL of the following before asking questions or purchasing please. Probably your question is answered in the listing. Charlotte's Web by E.B. (Elwyn Brooks) White (author of Stuart Little) Illustrated by Garth Williams Hardcover First Edition - First Printing NY: Harper & Brothers, 1952. $2.50 cover price. Fine- in Fine- dust jacket. A nearly-perfect copy. See below. Issue Points: On the copyright page: Copyright, 1952, by E.B.White. States "FIRST EDITION" with code I-B, required to identify a first printing. NOTE: I-B is the code Harpers publishing used to designate the month and printing year of this copy. In this case "I" = September and B = 1952. Illustrated dust jacket with Fern holding Wilbur and gazing at Charlotte the Spider. $2.50 cover price on front flap. Tan boards with Charlotte title in the same design as the dust jacket. Collation: Pictorial blue end-papers with illustration of a spiderweb, Half-Title; Title Page; Copyright Page (FIRST EDITION (I-B); Half-Title, Main Text beginning with Chapter 1 "Before Breakfast" 1-184. THE END on Page 184, blue end-papers with spiderweb. Condition: Fine- in Fine- Dust Jacket. A superior copy. NO tears, NO chips to the jacket. Slightest hint of natural aging. Book itself is quite clean, boards exceptionally nice, sharp corners, tiniest with a tiny hint of a couple of faint rubs to the front board, almost imperceptible, Text-block very firm to the boards. Slight age-toning to the edge of the text-block but minimal. NOTE on the Edition: The book was published three years after White began writing it with a $2.50 cover price. His editor, Ursula Nordstrom, said that one day in 1952, he arrived at her office and handed her a new manuscript, the only copy of the book then in existence, which she read soon after and enjoy. The book was released on October 15, 1952. NOTE: All modern books with original or facsimile dust jackets come with dust jacket covers. ALSO: The pictured are of the actual item for sale. (The pictures are NOT stock photos.) IMPORTANT NOTE: All sales are generally FINAL. I do NOT accept returns because of buyer's remorse, "it was a gift but the recipient already had it", or "I found the same book at a better price". I do not base my pricing on other retailers' offerings as each book is priced considering edition, condition, and demand. Returns are only accepted in the remote possibility discrepancies regarding edition and/or condition were not fulling described, of which I try to be very thorough in researching the edition/printing as well as describing ALL condition issues. So make sure you're 100% positive you desire one of my items before making a purchase. NOTE on USPS Shipping: FREE shipping in the continental US, $87 priority flat-rate medium box, $87 rest of the world. I tend to ship on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays sometimes on Friday. I do not ship on Mondays and Saturdays. …
