Charlie Brown's Second Super Book of Questions and Answers: About the Earth and Space. From Plants to Planets! (New York: Random House, 1977). First edition, later printing (number line 4-8). Large-format pictorial hardcover, unpaginated (approx. 150 pages), illustrated throughout in full color. Based on Charles M. Schulz's beloved Peanuts characters, this educational volume uses humor and comics to introduce young readers to science, nature, and astronomy. Topics range from plants, weather, and geology to stars, space travel, and the solar system. Edited by Hedda Nussbaum, with scientific consultation from experts at the American Museum of Natural History, the Weather Service, and NASA. Includes hundreds of lively illustrations featuring Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and Woodstock. Condition: Very good. Glossy pictorial boards show light edge wear and mild bumping at corners; small name in pencil on front endpaper ('David Goodman, 134'). Pages clean and bright with minor toning. A well-preserved vintage copy of this classic 1970s Peanuts science series. Although credited to the Peanuts characters created by Charles M. Schulz (1922-2000), this series was written and edited by Random House's educational team in collaboration with Schulz's studio.
