About the Author

Charles Addams did not live in a Charles Addams house. He lived in a perfectly ordinary Manhattan penthouse and a less ordinary beach house on Long Island, where his life was run by the twenty-two cylinders that powered his vintage sports car. Medieval crossbows and two suits of armor comforted his winter months.

Before becoming world famous for his New Yorker cartoons, he attended Colgate University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Grand Central School of Art in New York. Later, some of his characters were made extremely famous by the television show, The Addams Family.
