Seller: Powell's Bookstores Chicago, ABAA, Chicago, IL, U.S.A.
Condition: Used - Good. 1895. Hardcover. 4to, xii pp. + 50 collotype plates, each with a page of identifying text en face. Bound in full calf (dark tan) by Morley of Oxford; spine in five compartments, with raised bands. Ruled and decorated in blind, with gilt lettering on spine. Front cover has some spotting, and a few fragments of a paper slipcase have adhered in the same area. Extremities gneerally rubbed and soewhat worn, and front hinge weakening from the outside, with a partial seperation of the leather near the top. The very heavy marbled endpapers are unaffected, however, so the volume could easily stand much careful use by an individual. An institutional buyer would probably want to restore the weakend hinge. Internally, a very clean and crisp copy, with the plates in excellent condition. Good. Seller Inventory # S23361
