Item description from seller

Oversized hardcover. First edition, first printing. Fine in fine dust jacket. vi+ 154 pp. with bibliography. Profusely illustrated with vintage black and white and contemporary color photographs. Beautiful volume that tells the story of a class of wooden catboats unique to Barnegat Bay on the Jersey Shore. Since the 1920s, these classic boats with their towering 46-foot masts and enormous sails have been raced and cruised by a small and intimate group of sailors , whose tales are often unbeliveable, sometimes comical, and frequently sentimental.
