Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 202 pages; 1949 Macmillan. HC/DJ 1st American edition. Soundly bound and clean in original pictorial dust jacket with publisher's $2.50 issue price present on the front flap. Bound in original black paper covered boards with titles in white to spine. Dust jacket is corner clipped at top and bottom of the front flap but without loss of the publisher's issue price. Jacket shelf rubbed and worn at edges; shallow chips lost at top of spine and corner tips. Several short closed tears and scrunches at edges; light surface rubbing and expected light toning to the whites of the jacket. Uncommon in original printings, especially so in dust jacket. The US edition was not published until 1949, five years following the UK 1st. VG/VG-. Seller Inventory # 51300
