First edition published by Constable in 1986. The author was assigned by the BBC to write a docudrama on Corbett s life and he sought out, among others, the help of Jerry A. Jaleel for help, and acknowledged it in the book. Jaleel was compiling a biography of Corbett at the time (1981-84) and assisted Booth with several key points. Booth never disclosed the fact that he was writing a biography of Corbett to be published simultaneously with the release of the film in 1986. Sadly, Booth died of brain tumour later, and this book is signed by Jerry A. Jaleel, (see images) , director of the Jim Corbett Foundation, established in 1994, and author of the blockbuster Under the Shadow of Man eaters: The Life & Legend of Jim Corbett first published as a signed limited edition in 1997 by the Jim Corbett Foundation in Canada and as a trade edition in 2001 by Orient Longmans in New Delhi.
