[v] + 267 pp + ads. 1st Edition . Dark red cloth covers with black horizontal ruling, gilt to the spine. Spine head and tail are chipped and worn, library #s on spine and some wear/scarring around them, board corners bit rubbed and worn. Interior end papers have a donation card and university library plate, first free end paper has signature of A. G. Boynton, the editor of the Detroit Free Press, normal library markings including pocket, otherwise clean and unmarked. Hawley's "first important work", in general, a commentary on J. S. Mill's Principles and the arguments relating to capital and general glut ; Ex-Library; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 267 pages.
