About this Item
The first major biography of this important, though often overshadowed nineteenth century American architect, planner, and landscape designer. Vaux collaborated with Fredrick Law Olmsted on New York's Central Park and Brooklyn's Prospect Park, as well as the first comprehensive city-wide park/parkway/open space system in the United States, designed in 1868 for Buffalo, New York. On his own, Vaux designed the first building for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History. This book may require extra postage due to size and weight.
