About this Item

2 1/2" x 4" card issued by Max Cigarettes, Johannesburg, South Africa. This is card # 32 in a series of 250 cards titled Cinema Cavalcade Volume II. Depicts Oland as a Chinese bandit from the movie Shanghai Express. While he successfully portrayed Orientals on the screen, he was actually of Danish origin. You are to specify whether English or Afrikaans editions are preferred. Eventually the 250 cards were to be enclosed in a booklet titled "Cinema Cavalcade, Volume II" which could be ordered directly from the Max Company. Fine.
