This is a bound volume of all fifty two weekly issues of The Chester Courant Newspaper for the year 1899 bound in an old quarter leather binding, just over Atlas Folio size measuring 26 inches by 20 inches approx., containing all the local and international news for the day, including many reports and updates on The Boer War, local adverts, including one for Barnum and Baily?s Greatest Show on Earth visiting Chester on June 14th, also within the newspapers are folding Monthly Railway Timetables, and an Almanack for the following year in a December issue, each newspaper runs to 8 pages, the binding is in a very worn state with the leather to joints on spine cracked, leather damaged to spine but binding still just holding, internally some dustiness and browning, inevitable creases to the thin paper, a few of the folding railway timetables are worn to edges, one with a clean tear, and some with creases to to incorrect folding, a few noticeable creases an advert for a series of lectures by Hillaire Belloc has had a small piece clipped from it (pictured) I have not been through every single page in the volume, but scans through a few times have not revealed any other clipped articles the contents being in fairly good overall condition THIS IS A LARGE HEAVY VOLUME AROUND EIGHT KILOS PACKED OVERSEAS SHIPPING WILL BE VERY EXPENSIVE, Seller Inventory # 003066
